Tea readily absorbs any flavours and aromas so storage in airtight containers, preferably not clear glass, is recommended.
If storing in wooden containers make sure they are lined or that the tea is in a sealed bag. It is not necessary to store tea in a refrigerator but keeping your teas in a cool, dry pantry cupboard is best.
Light, air and moisture are the enemies of tea.
Do not keep your teas near your oven or stove as the heat will affect the quality of the tea. Also remember to keep your teas as far away from coffee and spices as possible to prevent it from absorbing those strong flavours. Always use a dry spoon as dampness causes teas to go moldy. And finally, store different teas separately and not together.
